What kind of pressure can I expect to receive?
The level of pressure I work in entirely depends on the clients’ preference. That said, I tend to work around medium to medium-light pressure. Ultimately I want the client to feel relaxed and safe.
What modalities do you use the most?
I use a combination of deep tissue, Swedish, myofascial release, trigger point and acupressure in my practice.
What got you into bodywork?
In my previous career, full time computer work led to chronic neck stiffness and shoulder pain. I discovered that self-care was essential in affecting postural and repetitive stress injuries for the better. This led me down a path to bodywork during a time that I was re-evaluating my career in advertising. During my schooling at McKinnon Body Therapy Center, I had never felt better when receiving (and giving) bodywork on a regular weekly basis. Regular bodywork can do wonders for the body and mind.
What other elements of your life do you bring to your bodywork?
love being in the outdoors and do everything I can to bring that peace that I feel to my daily life. I hope to bring a calming presence in my work as a massage therapist.
